Why isn't it safe to fill a kettle with water from the hot top?

So wierd, i was thinking of asking this not an hour ago!! bizarre! I'd like to know the answer aswell. someone told me not to make them a bru the other day with the hot tap and I said dont be silly. Surely if the water boils then the water is fine?
