Friday Night Lights?

I think FNL is probably the best show on television (oftern referred to in the press as "the best show on television you've never seen"). Why is it that after all the excellent press its received, the terrific storylines, the unique filming techniques and the fabulous characters that people still aren't watching and that is doesn't get the ratings it deserves?
