When using ovulation test strips do you get any lines right before period is due?

I have tested previous months and not gotten much of a line at all throughout the whole month. This one isn't dark but more than before. Today is cd25 for me. Is having that hormone now (even though the ov test is neg) an indicator of ovulation this month? I'm pretty sure I ov'd on or around cd21 (I had some slight pink spotting on the tp for half a day. I know this can happen when the egg is released). Last month my cycle was 36 days long. Thanks!
